If there’s one thing that I have always thought I would never do, it’s to go bungee jumping. It wasn’t fear, it just wasn’t something that I found appealing. Now, I can barely contain my excitement. At this point of the trip this November, I will have already been zip-lining and jumping off the Sky Tower (controlled descent) in Auckland, chartered a seaplane for an aerial tour in Hobart, and will have been swimming with sharks in Melbourne. At this point, going bungee jumping and snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef just seemed like the next logical step. I should add, this trip will also include a ride on the Kuranda Scenic Railway, with multiple stops, and a Skyrail gondola trip over a World Heritage-listed rainforest…with hotel pick up! 🙂
All of this in 2 days!!! It’s going to be a tight schedule, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The bungee jump and minjin swing have been booked with AJ Hackett International. They have locations in Australia, China, Russia, France, Germany, and Singapore. Look them up on YouTube and you’ll see why I’m so pumped up!! Check out the video here also. It’s just one of many. They too offer hotel pick up. And as an appreciative note to them, they have offered to pick me up from my hotel at 3PM, even though their last pick up time is supposed to be 1PM, because my flight arrives after 1PM. So, many thanks to them!
And on a bit of a tangent, I thought I should mention that my hotel for this leg of the trip will be free for me. It’s one of the benefits of signing up for reward programs from the various hotel chains. My hotel was booked using Hilton Honors points. Maybe I’ll write a separate post about reward programs, from airlines, hotels, credit cards, and more. We’ll see.
Back to the trip! This part of the trips is one of the reasons I bought a GoPro camera, as well as accessories. You can bet I’ll be using the camera when I go bungee jumping. It’ll be so cool to watch the video. That camera will be awesome for everything here, really. The Kuranda Railway, the Skyrail gondola ride, and of course, snorkeling on the Reef!!!! 🙂 October can’t get here soon enough!
