After what, I hope, will be three amazing days in Sydney, I’m flying out to Sunshine Coast; just for a day. However, I’m pretty excited because, in that one day, I will be visiting Australia Zoo in Beerwah. If you don’t know, Australia Zoo is well known all over the world because of Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter. The zoo was founded by Bob and Lyn Irwin, the parents of Steve Irwin. I actually added this destination to my itinerary because of this alone. This is pretty special for me. I was one of the millions of people who would never miss an episode of The Crocodile Hunter. I’ve always loved wildlife, and there have many great wildlife documentaries and other similar types of programming, but this show was a cut above the rest. I remember my sister and I use to watch it together when we shared an apartment at Penn State University. So, I say again: this is pretty special for me. You can bet I’ll be taking a lot of pictures. Be on the lookout for them.
What’s next? So, it’s a pretty short distance from Sunshine Coast to Brisbane; about an hour and 24 minutes according to Google. My next destination, Perth, flies out of Brisbane Airport, so obviously I have to get to Brisbane. So, I’ve reserved a car rental. Now, this may not seem like a big deal, and perhaps, it isn’t. However, it is kind of cool for me because I have never driven a car outside of the United States. So, it’ll be me driving a car with the steering wheel on the right side of the car, while driving on the left side of the road. Again, I know it probably isn’t a big deal, but it’s still pretty cool to me.
And, as far as Brisbane? No plans. Gonna explore the city; see what trouble I can get into. Suggestions are certainly welcomed. I’ll be sure to write about what I actually end up doing. Later
